Acoustic Target System (VAUDEO)

Detection of Undetected Targets with the Use of Camera is Provided with Acoustic Sensors.

/moral losses increase the criticality of the renewal of security systems. It is an obvious fact that the systems currently in use are mostly based on image-based detection. However, visual detection of many targets has various difficulties and is often not possible.

In order to process images, which are the other basic elements of the system, digital image processing algorithms that will enable target tracking have been developed; location information of the target is provided by acoustic sensors and cameras are directed towards this location, allowing higher resolution images to be taken and processed.

VAUDEO is a system that enables acoustic sensors and optical systems to be used simultaneously. Target detection can be done by processing the acoustic signals in the audible sound band and beyond with acoustic sensors, and then visual tracking is provided with cameras aiming at the detected target. Thus, the detection of targets that cannot be detected only with the use of cameras is provided by acoustic sensors, and the target can be classified and tracked using images belonging to the same target.

In order to detect targets with Acoustic Sensors, one of the two basic components of the system, ' Microflown Sensors that can measure the Particle Velocity are used. Thanks to the measurement of the 'Particle Velocity', it is possible to determine the exact position of any sound source with a single sensor. Thus, the position of a target that is not in the field of view can be estimated.
